The e-Visa allows for stays of up to 90 days within a specified time frame. Notably, the visa is remains for 10 years for US citizens and five years for Canadian and Australian travelers. With the e-Visa system in place, planning your trip to Brazil is easier than ever for American travelers.

New Income Policies

Now, let’s talk about the expected balance on your bank statements to be. Although Brazil’s new visa policy is causing quite a stir among travelers, it is opening a conversation about the issue within the nomadic lifestyle.

Brazil is requiring individuals to provide two consecutive months of bank statements showing a minimum balance of US $2,000.00. This stringent requirement aims to prevent travelers from becoming stranded in the country without the means to return home. While some may find humor in the misfortunes of those caught unaware, Brazil is taking proactive measures to ensure the smooth entry and exit of visitors.

It’s a reminder that being a nomad or traveler doesn’t absolve one from responsibility, especially when it comes to respecting the laws and regulations of the countries visited. Traveling responsibly means being prepared, both financially and logistically, to avoid unnecessary burdens on the host country, such as homelessness or reliance on local resources for support. So, if Brazil is on your travel itinerary post-April 10, ensure your bank account meets the minimum balance requirement, because neglecting to do so could abruptly end your trip before it even begins.
