Melanie DeCastro As a viajera myself, I found myself scrolling on TikTok as one does when they are trying to find the meaning to life… and I stumbled upon a video showing the Latino Travel Fest in 2023. YES A WHOLE YEAR AGO. Immediately I have to go and of course it already passed.
Feeling a little FOMO I decided to just email the organization. The email went something along the lines of I am Melanie and I love to travel I would love to be a part of Latino World Travelers in any capacity! But of course a bit more refined!
I met up with the founder of Latino World Travelers and she was lovely and we came up with me becoming part of the Blog team as an Intern which I still work on to this day. After a year of dedication, trial and errors a paid position opened up to the team for grabs. Luckily I was offered the position as a Part-Time Social Media Manager!
Fast forward to May 2024 I finally ATTEND the ONE the ONLY Latino Travel Fest in Elizabeth, New Jersey. I attended Creator’s Day as an attendee, Traveler’s Day and Day 3 Brunch festivities as a team member. If you would like to know more about what we did and what my role was stay tuned for more!
Be in the Spaces you Dream of Becoming
So Soñadores, what does this mean? You know that phrase you are what you eat or you are who you hang out with. If no one around you is a diver and you want to be a diver what do you do? Go to dive school, attend a diving contest, or go to diving destinations.
If you love traveling and content creation then why not be a part of those spaces? This is an invite for you to go to that Masterclass or Festival and become the person you want to be with guidance and peers. Find people, organizations, companies that do it and ask questions. Introduce yourself and get involved. You never know what is to come and THAT is the beauty in community and connection.
